Black Wall Street Chamber President and husband found dead in Bixby home

BIXBY, Okla. — Bixby police confirm Black Wall Street Chamber President Sherry Gamble Smith and her husband Martin Smith are dead after they were found in their Bixby home Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to their home near 107th and Mingo around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. Someone inside the home called 911.

Sherry Gamble Smith once worked for the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce before her position was eliminated.

Officers said this appears to be a domestic situation. They say when they entered the home, officers found Martin injured and Sherry already dead.

Martin later died at the hospital.
