The comment came on Maher’s “Real Time” television show where he said;
“Now that liberals have forwarded their agenda by inserting a mass gay wedding into their Grammys, conservatives must match them tit-for-tat by having a mass shooting at the Country Music Awards.”
Maher was holding up a picture of Oklahoma’s Carrie Underwood that had been altered to show her holding a pistol and semi-automatic gun.
Giving his opinion about guns is not new to Maher. On his show in September, he lamented “we’re never gonna do anything about this, because both parties love guns."
The remark was in reference to the Grammy performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis that included dozens of same-sex, interracial, and straight couples get married. Queen Latifa officiated the ceremonies.
