Benefit concert for teen maimed by explosion

Saturday, January 26th, Cain's Ballroom

The steps leading up to Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa will be a "stairway to heaven" for Led Zepplin fans, as a concert benefitting the family of a young man terribly injured in a fireworks accident will feature a tribute band called Let's Zepplin.

Taron Pounds suffered horrific injuries when a commercial-grade firework exploded in his face during a wedding celebration last summer.

Since then, he's undergone an intensive battery of life-saving and reconstructive surgeries, the cost of which has reached millions of dollars according to his mother, Tammy McLean.

Doors open Saturday, January 26th, at 6:00 p.m. in the historic Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main Street downtown.

Taron's still got a long way to go as the cosmetic surgeries haven't even begun yet.

Two other acts will also participate.

They include Black Sabbath tribute band Electric Funeral and Idol.

Tickets are $15 and all proceeds will go to help Taron's family defray his medical expenses, once the facility rental fee has been paid.
