Bed bugs found inside Bartlesville Public Library

We have a heads up for people who frequent the Bartlesville Public Library.

Beginning around a month ago, bed bugs were found in the building.

According to a memo from city manager Mike Bailey, the first case was linked to a returned violin case. Since that time, two additional homes were identified as having returned books with bed bugs.

Library director Shellie McGill tells KRMG "we have done everything humanly possible to make sure we're free" of the bugs.

The city has hired an extermination team and a company with dogs specifically trained to sniff out the hard to kill bugs.

In all, 35 books and five pieces of furniture were removed from the building.
