Bed bugs becoming unstoppable in Tulsa

Wed, Sept 20, 2017 — They're hard to see, they attack you while you're sleeping, and over the last five years, they've become a huge problem in the Tulsa area.

Brian Jervis with OSU Extension tells us beg bugs are a menace and they won't be going away anytime soon.

“We can’t get them under control,” Jervis said.  “We may not be able to control all of them like we used to.”

For reference, 50 percent of bed bugs are found in houses.  The other 50 percent can be located in hotels and apartments.

Jervis points out the level of insecticides currently used doesn’t thoroughly kill bed bugs like it used to because of environmental regulations.  Homes may need several treatments, before the bugs disappear.
