So a bear walks into a bar.....

And then walks right back out

No it’s not the opening line of a joke but it could be.

As patrons were enjoying a barley pop at the Alaskan Hotel and bar in downtown Juneau, Alaska a juvenile black bear walked in.

Ariel Svetlik-McCarthy was the bartender on duty, she told KTOO-TV all she could think to do was to scream at the animal.

To her surprise the bear did exactly that, leaving within seconds.

"No bear! Get out! No! You can't be in here!"

Hotel manager C. Scott Fry was watching as the bear walked down the sidewalk toward the bar entrance.

"As soon as he got to the bar door, it made a left and walked in like he wanted to have a beer," Fry chuckled.

State biologist Ryan Scott reminded that bears are native to the area and although its rare, they have been found in businesses and homes.

Svetlik-McCarthy joked later that she knew the animal wouldn’t stay in the bar.

After all, he was a juvenile.
