The reward for information in an animal cruelty case about a dog abused to death over the weekend is now at $10,000.
Former head football coach for OU and the Dallas Cowboys, Barry Switzer, kicked in $5,000 to the reward after mentioning it on twitter.
Rogers County authorities investigate the animal cruelty case and tell KRMG on Monday that they are getting some tips but nothing with solid information.
"Somebody had taken her back legs and wired them together and drug her a mile away from home,” says Melony Patton.
Meanwhile, the family is at a loss to explain why anyone would target their black lab named 'Jetta'.
She says the family had her for less than two years and Jetta recently had 9 puppies.
Patton tells KRMG she now has to tell her two children, ages two and four, that the dog they love is dead.
She also has something to say to the person or people who tortured Jetta to death.
"I don't understand why. If it was one of these funny things that you know you thought was funny, it is not funny. Now there is a two year old and a four year old missing their dog. I hope you are caught and we will press charges to the max," says Patton.
She says Jetta was with the puppies on Friday night when they got home.
The dog was found Saturday.
"If they can do this to an innocent dog, what can they do to your child? You know, there is a special place for this person in hell so I want everyone to know please keep an eye on your animals, your children, on yourself,” says Patton.
