'America's Worst Charities' give less than a penny of every dollar donated

People obviously expect their contributions to a charity to go to the people they're trying to help, but a study by a Tampa newspaper shows that some charities use a mind-boggling 99 percent or more of donations on operating expenses and to pay for the companies they use to solicit the donations.

The Tampa Bay Times calls their findings "America's 50 Worst Charities".

Some of charities involved have professional sounding names "National Cancer Coaliton" and "Defeat Diabetes Foundation", but the study shows that in some cases, they give less than one PENNY in "direct cash aid" from each dollar they get in donations.
