Afternoon fight turns into a homicide, suspect is behind bars

A man turns himself in for the shooting death of Charles Johnson in Tulsa Saturday afternoon.

Tulsa police say Randall Lockett is accused of killing the victim at the McKinley Apartments located near Pine and Sheridan.

The two men were arguing around 3:46 p.m.  Police say Lockett is accused of pulling a gun and shooting Johnson in the chest.

The victim was transported by a personal vehicle to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses were able to give officers information about the shooting and the suspect.

Police say the tips pointed them in the direction of Lockett.

Officers tracked Lockett down, but didn't need to go in and arrest him.

Police say he called them around 9 p.m. and arranged to surrender.

Lockett is currently in the Tulsa County Jail.
