Accused thief tries to take stolen car, fights officer instead

A man tells officers he's picking up a missing vehicle.

Except, the car wasn't missing, it was stolen.

Tulsa police say they then attempted to take Gregory Harris into custody Thursday evening, but he ran.  The suspect was finally arrested near 15th and Memorial, but it wasn't easy.

The officer did get the upper hand and Harris was put in handcuffs.

Harris began to attack one of the officers.  Police say the suspect punched the officer multiple times and tried to get him off his feet.

Harris is currently at the Tulsa County Jail.  He faces multiple counts including possession of a stolen vehicle and assault and battery on a police officer.
