103 citations issued during sobriety checkpoint

Sun, April 23, 2017 — Multiple agencies took part in a sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrol late Saturday night.

The checkpoint was conducted near East 4th and South Elgin.

“Members of the Tulsa Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Oklahoma ABLE Commission and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office participated in the enforcement checking 228 vehicles,” police said.  “The effort resulted in 12 DUI arrests, 103 citations issued and 1 transporting a loaded firearm arrest. All numbers are preliminary.”

The sobriety checkpoint was paid for by a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.
