Jogger hit by flying deer

Deer was not flying under its own power

Krystine Rivera was just out for a run when she was hit by the airborne venison.

Really, we’re not making this up.

Rivera happened to be in the area when a 71-year old woman in an SUV sideswiped a deer along a road in Ashburn, Virginia.

Rivera told The Washington Post she was having a tough day and decided to go run to clear her head.

The deer went airborne and crashed into Rivera, knocking her unconscious and giving her a concussion.

She told the Post from there it "got astronomically worse."

Paramedics on the scene had to tell Rivera what happened. She never saw the deer coming and had no idea what had hit her.

She only found out when paramedics on the scene told her that had to cut her shirt off “because it had deer blood all over it."

Both Rivera and the driver were treated at a hospital and released. The deer died.
