SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — The funeral for a Sand Springs student killed in a car accident last week was held Wednesday.

Ethan Gibson, 17, and four other Charles Page High School students were involved in a single-car accident during lunch time, less than a mile from campus on Sept. 15.

Gibson, Cyra Saner, 16, and Kylee Weaver, 16, died at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but police said speed was a factor.

Sirrah Mathews, 16, and Logan Childers, 17, were taken to the hospital and released days later.

The family of Ethan Gibson set up a Facebook donation page to help with funeral costs.

”Just a shame, he was fixing to start wrestling,” said Ethan’s grandfather Steve Terrill. “This year he would have graduated this spring. He had just started going to Tulsa Tech down here to learn a trade. He was probably going to be a sound engineer.”

A GoFundMe page has been up set up to help the family of Cyra Saner. Saner’s funeral will be held on Thursday.

A GoFundMe page has also been up set up to help the family of Kylee Weaver. Weaver’s funeral will be held on Friday.
