OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A house exploded Friday afternoon in northwest Oklahoma City, according to fire department officials.
Around 3:20 p.m., the Oklahoma City Fire Department received a report from a neighbor that a house exploded in the 2000 block of Northwest 40th Street, near North Pennsylvania Avenue. Fire officials said the neighbor told them one person lives at the home, and a truck is usually there.
Authorities have not contacted the person who lives at the home. Crews are searching the debris to find a possible victim.
Authorities said a couple of neighbors told them they had gas problems two or three days ago, and they contacted Oklahoma Natural Gas. They said Oklahoma Natural Gas responded and took care of the problem.
Fire department officials said gas to the home has been shut off, and power has been turned off.
Authorities said there are no reported injuries at this time. They can’t confirm what caused the house to explode.
