Claremore police investigate a stabbing at a local dispensary

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Around 7 p.m. Monday, police responded to reports of a stabbing in the parking lot of Big Daddy’s Puffery, a dispensary on Historic Route 66 in Claremore.

An officer arrived on the scene and saw a man with a non-life threatening stab wound in his leg. The officer was able to treat the wound with a tourniquet until help arrived, according to Claremore police Lt. Mark Book.

Lt. Book told FOX23 the victim was awake, alert and talking to police at the scene. He was transported to a hospital in Tulsa for treatment.

The scene is clear at this time, but detectives are searching for any information on a possible suspect.

According to Lt. Book, the stabbing was the result of an altercation in the parking lot of Big Daddy’s Puffery, and no dispensary employees were involved in the incident.
