Bear with head stuck in jar rescued

Rope and a flashlight did the job

The young bear’s head had been trapped inside the plastic jar for over a week when four people were finally able to help.

Even more impressive the four only used a rope and a flashlight to accomplish the task.

The bear was first seen on June 3rd but despite being only 100 pounds the animal is still dangerous and wild.

The young animal also avoided game wardens and others for several days.

That kept potential rescuers scratching their heads as to how they could help.

Mike Jurbala saw the bears near Jamison City, Pennsylvania Thursday night and decided it was time to help.

Mike and contacted a couple of friends and they went after the bear.

The rescue party trapped the animal in a back yard and cornered him before slipping the rope around him and holding him still enough to pull the jar off.

Mike said despite having not eaten for almost two weeks the 100 pound bruin was still plenty strong.
