Update: Victim from Monday morning wreck identified

Shamara Girod, 27, has been identified as the female who died after a collision near 61st and Lewis Monday. The investigation is ongoing.

Tulsa police are investigating a death after a two-car collision.

The woman died after the car in which she was riding ran a red light and was hit by another vehicle at 61st and Lewis.

Tulsa police say the woman may have been shot at Heller Park near 5500 South Utica Avenue before the crash about 12:16 a.m. Monday.

Officers also were questioning witnesses after reports surfaced that someone had been stabbed, or had been the victim of an auto-pedestrian accident at the park.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of her death.

Two other people who were inside the car with the woman at the time of the crash were taken to the hospital.
