Trucker takes hands off steering wheel to pull tooth, crashes

A truck driver who was distracted trying to pull his own tooth caused a major traffic jam miles long in Alabama.

The accident happened Sunday night on the I-20/59 East near Tuscaloosa when the driver took his hands off the wheel to pull out his tooth, went off the road into a ditch and jackknifed into some trees.

"The driver stated he lost control when he was pulling a tooth with his hands," an ALEA State Trooper report reads, "He had the tooth in his shirt pocket as proof."

Thankfully no one was seriously hurt but the recovery of the truck caused traffic to detour for several hours.
