Crews battle multiple fires in Wagoner County Sunday afternoon.
One fire was located near 171st Street and the Verdigris River. The other began as a controlled burn, then spread to threaten a home near Porter.
The National Weather Service in Tulsa issued a Fire Weather Alert Sunday in effect until 7 p.m. for the following counties:
OSAGE... WASHINGTON... NOWATA... CRAIG... OTTAWA... PAWNEE... TULSA... ROGERS... MAYES… CREEK AND WAGONER.
The NWS warns unusually warm and dry weather combined with north winds to create a risk of rapid wildfire. The threat is expected to decline this evening as winds die down.
A Fire Weather Alert is issued when dangerous fire conditions are expected but are below Red Flag criteria.
