A wildfire in north Tulsa sent several agencies scrambling to contain it before it could destroy any structures Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out on the west side of US Highway 75 around 1:30 p.m.
It sent smoke billowing into the air, and some of it crossed the highway making driving in the area a bit risky.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from damaging any homes, though a shed and an old car in a field were burned up.
High winds and low humidity, combined with dry vegetation and unseasonably warm temperatures, had led to a Red Flag Warning for several counties in the Tulsa area.
The National Weather Service also tells KRMG that a lack of precipitation has put much of the area back into a drought.
