Worker finds eyeballs on gas station trash can

Kansas City Police are trying to find out who left a medical cooler with what appear to be two eyeballs inside, sitting on top of a trash can at a gas station.

They say a worker at the Conoco service station at NW 112th and N. Ambassador called police after finding what he regarded as a suspicious package.

When police investigated, they made the grisly discovery.

Police are not certain, but they think the eyes are from a pig.

They say some animal species have eyes that look very similar to human eyes.

They checked with eye transplant centers and hospitals and found no sign that anyone had misplaced a medical cooler with human eyes.

Video from surveillance cameras shows two men walking over to the trash can with the cooler, placing it on top, and walking away.

Police say that doesn't constitute a crime, so they don't plan to investigate any further.
