(Video) World’s first 3D plastic printed gun fired successfully

The gun was created with a 3D printer using the same kind of plastic seen in kitchen appliances and car bumpers.

The man who created it is Cody Wilson who said “I recognize that this tool might be used to harm people but I don’t think that’s a reason to not put it out there.”

The gun called the Liberator, will fire standard bullets and has interchangeable barrels so different caliber rounds can be used.

Wilson test fired the gun himself, but from a distance. He says the goal is to show that technology can help make laws and governments irrelevant.

Wilson says he wants to put the blueprint for the gun online so anyone can have access.

A Forbes Magazine article says “once the file is online, anyone will be able to download and print the gun in the privacy of their garage, legally or not, with no serial number, background check, or other regulatory hurdles."
