VIDEO: Darth Vader runs for mayor; Galactic Senate presumably behind him

He doesn't travel around the galaxy in a gigantic warship, or even a TIE fighter for that matter, but rather the Russian countryside in a motorcycle.

As befitting a man of his stature, a Stormtrooper handles the driving chore while he rides in the sidecar.

The guy running under the name and inside the uniform of Darth Vader is seeking office as a write-in in two different cities.

The ersatz Sith Lord is running in the cities of Kiev and Odessa in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin (or should that be Emperor Palpatine?)  says he'll honor the results of the election, but it's unclear if he knows the 'dark side' is on the ballot.

"I alone can make an empire out of a republic, restore former glories, return lost territories and pride in this country," said Viktor Shevchenko (AKA Darth Vader)

He first tried to run for president, but there was a problem with the paperwork.

Vader runs under the Internet Party and says he'll provide "fish for everyone" if elected.

No word on if he plans to enlist his son to run as Vice Mayor so that they may rule the Ukraine together as father and son, or his position on bounty hunters.
