Two Kum N Go stores robbed by similar suspects

Tulsa police are investigating two Kum N Go armed robberies that were reported early Friday.

Both holdups were pulled off within about thirty minutes.

We're told a customer entered the store at 14495 East 51st about 12:42 a.m. and noticed signs of a struggle, but could not find the clerk.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Clint Roberts tells us, "The clerk was able to get over the counter and get out the front door and run for safety."

An off-duty police officer reported a man came to his door and said he'd been robbed.

We're told that three men with a gun had robbed the Kum N Go.

Then about thirty minutes later, the Kum N Go at 11296 East 71st was robbed, possibly by the same suspects.

Police are looking for a possible getaway car.

"Silver or gray either Crown Vic or Mercuty Marquis," Roberts says.

He described the suspects as three black males.

"Taller in stature, probably about 6-3 to 6-5, all wearing the same clothing which was white teeshirts with white bandanas tied around their faces. One was armed with a pistol."

Roberts says he ordered the clerk to open up the registers.

"The clerk was in fear for his life. He fled out the front door not before being struck in the head with probably the butt of the revolver. The clerk ran into Broken Arrow to call police."

Police kept watch at other Kum N Go stores through the night.
