Tulsa off to 3rd driest start on record

We've had a lot of droughts during the past few years, and we're off to a bad start AGAIN.

In fact, our colleagues at FOX23 say it's the third driest start to a year ever in Tulsa, or at least since records starting being kept in 1894.

We've only gotten about three-tenths of an inch of moisture so far, and that includes both rain and melted snow.

But the National Weather Service says we still have March and April, which are typically WETTER months, so they'll wait to see what it's like at the end of April, before they start talking drought.
