Tulsa library now offers free magazines, newspapers in electronic format

Patrons of the Tulsa City-County Library System can now obtain thousands of magazines and newspapers at no charge, without ever leaving the house.

The library has contracted with Zinio and Library PressDisplay to offer the services.

Users will need a current TCCL library card and a compatible electronic device, for example a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The library plans to offer the service for a year, then decide if its patrons like and will use it enough to keep it going.

Zinio offers any number of popular magazines, including Rolling Stone, O, and Better Homes and Gardens.

The digital editions do not have to be returned.

Some, like National Geographic, have additional content embedded available only in the online edition.

Library PressDisplay has some 2,200 newspapers online, including editions in more than 50 languages and several popular U.S. papers, including the Washington Post and even the local Tulsa paper.
