Tulsans will gather at Veteran's Park this Saturday for a Medal of Honor Day Ceremony, one of only two such ceremonies to be held anywhere in the nation.
This is the tenth year that Tulsa has hosted the event.
The Medal of Honor is both the highest and rarest of the awards giving to members of the United States military.
"If you look back through the wars of the United States, there's been over a million servicemen and women killed in those wars and think of the thousands and millions that have served during those wars, and there's only been 3,377 awarded," said retired Marine Marty McKnight. "It's very rare."
KRMG's Joe Kelley will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
