The original Klingon villain is dead

His name is Michael Ansara, he was an actor who played many roles but Star Trek fans will forever remember his as the Klingon villain Kang.

Ansara, who played the part three times on the show died this week at his California home. He was 91 years old.

Ansara was born outside the United States in Syria, but moved to the US at the age of two.

He began acting at an early age and grabbed parts in such classic TV shows as I Dream of Jeannie, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Hawaii 5-0, and Murder, She Wrote.

He also had a thriving movie career spanning pictures such as Broken Arrow, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Julius Caesar, and The Commancheros.

Ansara had a busy personal life as well with a marriage to former Jeannie star Barbara Eden.
