Teenager arrested for murder, robbery, rape

Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa police have a teenager in jail, accused of murder, robbery, kidnapping and rape.

Before a couple was robbed outside of the Incredible Pizza at 8314 East 71 Sunday night, an elderly woman was raped during a home invasion and a man was shot to death near 71st and Memorial during the day.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker said officers spotted and arrested 16-year old Deonte Green early Monday morning.

Police will “charge him with not only the murder of the man on 67 Street but the elderly couple that was terrorized this morning and a lady at an ATM was also robbed.”

At 11:53 AM Sunday, Tulsa Police received a call of an armed robbery at 6560 E 71 St.

Sergeant Walker said a black male suspect, described as young and later determined to be Deonte Green, robbed a woman at the ATM.

Green had kidnapped an elderly couple after breaking into their home at 6700 S 90 East Avenue, before forcing them to drive to 6560 E 71 St. and forcing them to withdraw cash.

After robbing the woman, Green forced the couple back to their residence where he committed a sexual assault on the woman.

Green stole cash and a handgun from the elderly couple.

Green left the residence on foot.

At 12:30 PM, he met a woman and her two daughters that were leaving their house through the garage.

He pointed the gun at the woman and forced her and the children back into the residence.

Green encountered the woman’s 44-year old husband Shane Anderson (shown.)

The husband fought with Green and Green shot the husband.

Anderson continued to struggle with Green before collapsing inside the house.

Green fled the residence on foot.

A large effort of patrol officers, canine officers, detectives and warrant officers saturated the area.

Detectives were able to learn from the patrol officers that a group of young criminals had been very active in the area breaking into homes and stealing cars.

Green was identified as one of these criminals.

Tulsa Police focused their efforts on locating Green along with the other criminals associated with him.

At 11:20 PM Sunday, Tulsa police received a call from a couple parked on a parking lot at 8314 E 71 St.

Green had entered their car, armed with a gun, as the couple sat in the car and robbed them before fleeing.

Patrol officers were in the area looking for Green and saturating the area due to the murder and other crimes.

Green was spotted and arrested.

Green was interviewed and enough evidence was located to determine that he was responsible for the crimes listed above.

Green will be arrested for murder, armed robbery and sexual assault.

This is Tulsa’s 67th homicide for 2017.
