Suspect takes dog along on police chase

A man believed to be intoxicated, took Tulsa officers on a chase early Sunday morning.

Police say the chase started around 12:53 a.m.

Officers spotted the suspect run a red light near West 51st and South 31st.  They tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the unidentified suspect took off down the road.  

The suspect's car blew a tire near West 71st and South Union, but he was determined not to get caught.

Police say he jumped from his vehicle and tried to flee the scene.  During this time, his car containing a dog rolled into a tree.

Officers were able to catch the suspect before he could get far and he was taken into custody.

When they searched his vehicle, they found a container with alcohol.  The suspect was said to be intoxicated.

They also found a frightened dog.  No update on the dog's condition.
