Suspect assaults woman, flips table on her mother

It was a scary situation for one Tulsa woman, her three kids, and her mother.

Police say Jason Sims was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on Thursday, after being accused of assaulting the woman and her mother, in front of their three children.

The victim told officers Sims pushed his way into the home through a sliding glass door.  He was said to be very upset, but police didn't release what set him off.

Police say it didn't take long for Sims to start attacking the mother of his children.  She told officers he punched, kicked and choked her.

Their 10, 7, and 6-year-olds were watching the whole incident.

The victim's mother tried to stop Sims, but he then turned his attention toward her.  Police say he's accused of flipping a table onto her.

Eventually, the two women were able to talk Sims into leaving.  On his way out, he picked up a bat and smashed out a window in the house.

The woman suffered a broken nose and a fractured eye socket from the attack.  No word on if her mother suffered serious injuries.

Police didn't release the exact relationship between the victim and Sims.

He was taken to the Tulsa County Jail.  Sims faces multiple counts including burglary, assault and battery, and malicious injury to property.
