Suspect accused of holding woman, child against their wills

A woman calls police early Monday morning in a panic.

Tulsa police say the woman told officers a man was holding her and her 5-year-old child against their wills.

When officers arrived to the home near Jackson Ave., Rodney Rushing had barricaded his door with a couch.

Eventually, Rushing exited the home and was taken into custody.

In addition to kidnapping, Rushing faces a count of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.  The victim told officers Rushing had hit her.  Police say he's also accused of choking her.

Rushing is currently in the Tulsa County Jail.
