Rogers County alcohol measure now effective

(CLAREMORE, Okla.) - A new law allowing the sale of on-site liquor on Sundays is now in effect in Rogers County.

The new measure makes it legal to buy and drink beer, wine and liquor on Sundays at restaurants.

County commissioners voted Monday to make July 1 the effective date for the new measure. Voters approved the proposal during the June 24 primary election. The vote also legalized on-site liquor sales on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission says 28 of the 53 Oklahoma counties don’t allow alcohol sales at restaurants during certain hours on Sundays.
