Restaurant armed robbery victim seeks help at competitor's drive-thru

A man wearing a white mask over his face and an Oklahoma State University jacket robbed a Tulsa restaurant, but only got away with tip money.

Tulsa Police Corporal Jerrod Hart tells us that the suspect, described as a black male who was wearing a black and white possible starter's jacket with white pants and white shoes, entered the Subway shop at 2826 East 11th Street at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

"The suspect grabbed six dollars from the tip jar and ended up running around the store and getting nothing else and then ran out out the front door," Hart said. "He did not get any money out of the cash register or any safes or anything else."

The employee ran to the drive-thru at a restaurant next door where he asked a customer to call 911.
The customer called police and then followed the suspect to an apartment complex near East 10th Street and South Atlanta Avenue.
That's where a police canine had tracked the robber, but lost him in the apartment complex.
Police will use video surveillance to help identify the suspect.
