'Online Checkbook' lets you see how your tax dollars are spent

State Treasurer Ken Miller launched a new service on the Treasurer's Office website today that lets you see, line-by-line, every payment that's made by the agency to various vendors and individuals.

"I don't think there's anything that we should spend that we shouldn't be able to explain," Miller said.

He calls the system the "Oklahoma Treasury Online Checkbook".

Miller demonstrated the system for reporters by pulling up all the payments made by his office for the month of December.

The search only took about a minute to process.

Many payments of invoices by the Treasurer's Office are done electronically these days, instead of printing traditional checks like they did in the past.
