Nuns sue strip club

The Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo say they have suffered since Club Allure opened behind their garden a few months ago.

Their suit claims the club "blares forth loud and raucous music and flashes a long string of blinking neon lights."

The Chicago Times reports it goes on to complain about "public violence, drunkenness, and litter."

Among the trash they claim to find are syringes and, "used condoms evidencing illicit sexual misbehavior.”

The Sisters maintain the club in Melrose park, Illinois violates state law saying adult entertainment must be at least 1,000 feet from a school or place of worship.

Because of that, when owners first applied for the license to build the club, they were told no. However, after several lawsuits over the braod nature of the law and thousands of dollars of legal fees, they gave in.

The Thomas More Society has filed the suit on behalf of the nuns.
