New child support payment option aims to cut down on deadbeat parents

Parents needing to make an Oklahoma child support payment now have another option to pay.

They can walk into any BancFirst location and, for a $5 bank fee, submit a cash payment.

Part of the reason behind the new arrangement, according to Oklahoma Child Support Services, is to cut down on the number of deadbeat parents. Jeff Wagner says, "I think anything we can do to make the child support payment process easier is going to help parents who want to do the right thing be more compliant with their child support orders."

Parents may also obtain a cash advance on their credit card or debit card to make their child support payments. Visit your nearest BancFirst location for details.

The agreement between BancFirst and Oklahoma Child Support Services is at no cost to taxpayers.

“The BancFirst payment option is the latest of many ways non-custodial parents can choose to make their court-ordered child support payments,” according to Wagner. “This agreement is just one of a number of initiatives OCSS has been putting in place to improve choice and convenience for the more than 200,000 families we serve.”
