Melissa Click garnered national attention when she shoved, and called security, on a journalist covering students gathering to protest race relations at the University of Missouri last fall.
It started when reporter Mark Schierbecker asked Click, "I'm media. Can I talk to you?" Click snapped back, "no. You need to get out."
When Schierbecker said, “no, I don't,” Click called out, “hey, who wants to help me get this reporter out of here? I need some muscle over here."
NBC News reports Schierbecker filed suit leading to Click facing charges of third-degree assault and possibly up to 15 days in jail.
Click is still employed at the school, and interim chancellor Hank Foley said, "Dr. Click is frankly aggrieved by this whole situation. She had a moment of heated anger. I doubt very much she would do something like that again."
