Families are seen enjoying the park when suddenly one mother begins to yell.
“Get out of the way, get out of the way, they’ll come, get out of the way,” she screams. Seconds later a small white car tears across the grounds of the park, narrowly missing children before it speeds onto the street.
KSTU reports a man named Bryson Rowley heard the chase on his police scanner an decided to take action. Rowley drove to meet the car and crashed into it head-on, ending the pursuit.
“The person driving the truck could see it was turning back into the park, and he did not want the car to hit all of the children, or any of the children, a police officer said.
Police in Syracuse, Utah confirmed a 14-year-old boy stole the car from his grandfather.
Neither the boy nor Rowley were injured in the accident, the 14-year-old was taken to a juvenile center while police decide what charges to file.
