Henryetta man charged with 2008 murders of Weleetka girls

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced today the Okfuskee County District Attorney has filed first-degree murder charges against 25-year-old Kevin Sweat of Henryetta for the 2008 shooting deaths of 13-year-old Taylor Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker.

The two girls were shot multiple times on a rural road near Placker's home in Weleetka.

Sweat was arrested earlier this year for the murder of his girlfriend Ashley Taylor and has been jailed without bond ever since.

The OSBI is still trying to find one of two weapons it believes was used in the murder of Placker and Whitaker.

It's a .40 Glock model 22 with the serial number EKG463US.

Investigators think Sweat tried to sell the gun at a Tulsa gun show back in March.

The agency is offering a reward up to $5,000 for that firearm.
