Heavily armed panhandler arrested in south Tulsa

Wed, May 10, 2017 — Tulsa officers attempted to speak with a panhandler this week near 51st and Lewis.

Instead, Jonte Gibson took off running and for good reason.  When officers caught him, they recovered a loaded gun, a taser and mace.

One nearby resident made light of Gibson being armed while begging for money.

“He’s an aggressive panhandler, at the least,” the resident said.

Gibson is in jail for carrying a gun without a license, running from officers and a warrant.
