Gas prices decline for 16th straight days

The price for a regular gallon of unleaded gasoline went down three cents Thursday to $3.09.

Analysts with GasBuddy.com say what goes up must come down- and in some areas of the country that certainly is holding true.

Patrick Dehaan says, “Eighteen states have seen prices come down over 10-cents per gallon from their peak price in June compared to today."

Prices spiked after problems at area refineries that have taken weeks to fix.

Joe Stephenson, with Stephenson Oil Co. in Sand Springs, says drivers aren't the only ones with a smile.

He tells KRMG, “The cheaper price is good for retailers and it’s good for consumers for us.”

Stephenson says he expects to see more people in his stores soon because of the steady drop and the summer vacation season.
