Free ice cream on tap as Tulsa heats back up

Tulsa has plenty to offer if you’re looking to fill those weekend plans.

Perhaps the highlight of the weekend takes place in Broken Arrow. The annual Taste of Summer ice cream festival will set up shop in BA’s Central Park.

The event is $5 to attend and you get all the Blue Bell ice cream you can stand. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday July 19.

The Tulsa Drillers are at home all weekend long, with two games on Friday and one on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available for all games at the gate as the Drillers take on the Arkansas Travelers.

If a movie is more what you're in the mood for, check out Persecuted. IMDB sums it up as "An evangelist finds himself framed for murder and on the run after he refuses to back a senator's proposition calling for sweeping religious reform."

The cool part, the President of the United States is played by Tulsa’s own Dr. James Higgins.

Lastly, it’s a bit of a drive, but if you want to get your hands on some of the very best peaches, the Porter Peach Festival continues through tomorrow at Livesay Orchards.
