Congressman Mullin says Keystone XL may happen without Presidential approval

Congressman Markwayne Mullin said Saturday that he believes the chances of the President approving the Keystone XL pipeline project is still 50-50 despite the positive effects it could have for the U-S, and especially Oklahoma.

"It is something that is vitally important to our economy. We're talking about $7 Billion that they're going to pump into our economy. And they limit our dependence on oil from countries that don't like us".

Mullin says the economic effects in Oklahoma are currently $2 Million a month. He also says that there is a plan to side step the President if he can't make up his mind about the project.

We're going to get the project done without his Presidential approval and if he doesn't sign off on it we're going to do hopefull all we can to proceed with that. And we believe we've got enough support to have it veto-proof in the Senate."

The President has promised a decision by late this Summer.
