Bixby man faces five years for animal cruelty

A Bixby man could serve up to five years in prison for leaving his dog locked in a hot car, and since he was on probation for drug convictions at the time of his arrest, could end up back behind bars even longer.

Cory Bain-Holloway was arrested last weekend by Catoosa police.

A probable cause affidavit obtained by KRMG says Cory Bain-Holloway lied to police about how long he'd been inside the Hard Rock Casino while his dog was outside in the car.

Officers found feces in the car, and reportedly attention was drawn to the situation when the pit bull honked the car's horn.

He told police he'd left a bottle of water in the car.

Oklahoma Statute § 1685 makes animal cruelty a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $500.

Bain-Holloway has prior felony convictions, which makes the current charge more serious.
