TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said officers made several gun-related arrests over the weekend.

On Friday, officers found two 17-year-olds walking around near 2nd and Elgin after curfew. Officers stopped them and found one of them had a pistol in his pocket. He was arrested for possession of a firearm by a minor, and both he and the other 17-year-old received curfew violation citations.

Later that same night, officers saw a group of people leaving Reds Bar and getting into an SUV. Officers saw an open bottle of alcohol in the car and had everyone step out. Officers found four pistols in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for several violations, including carrying a firearm while intoxicated and transporting an open container.

At around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, officers pulled over a driver who wasn’t using his headlights on 2nd Street. TPD said both the driver and his passenger were intoxicated, and the passenger had two firearms. The driver was taken to jail for DUI while his passenger was arrested on two counts of possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

TPD shared the following message on Facebook in part:

“Please make a plan if you’re going out for drinks. Don’t carry while intoxicated and arrange for a sober driver or a rideshare. Stay out of jail.”
