Man hit by train in downtown Tulsa, police say

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa man was seriously injured early this morning, police say, when he was a hit by a train this morning.

Police say around 6:50 a.m., the man – who they say could be homeless and was possibly intoxicated – was walking across the train tracks near 1st and Denver in downtown Tulsa.

They say conductors on the approaching train tried to warn him by blasting the train’s horn, but they say the conductors told them the man stumbled back toward the train and was hit with a glancing blow.

Police say the man appeared to suffer some kind of head injury.

They say he was transported by EMSA to a hospital.
