Authorities capture escaped inmate in OKC

UPDATE (2/26/2026) — Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped from the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections said 33-year-old Kyle Vacin was taken back into custody on Thursday around 1:20 a.m. near I-35 and Southeast Grand Boulevard in Oklahoma City.

Vacin had originally escaped from the correctional center on Wednesday.


HOMINY, Okla. — Hominy Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are searching for an inmate who escaped from Dick Conner’s Correctional Facility.

HPD was notified at 11:20 a.m. of an inmate who was noticed missing during the 10 a.m. count.

The inmate was identified as Kyle Vacin, who is serving time for drug and property crimes out of Tulsa County.

As a precaution, local schools have been placed on lockdown.

If you see Vacin, do not approach. Instead, call law enforcement immediately.
