SALINA, Okla. — The Mayor of Salina is discussing the City’s annexation to the west.
In a social media post, Mayor Randall Plumlee explained the area of annexation was approved more than 20 years ago, but was never fully completed.
The completion of the original annex would extend from Cement Plant Road north to Old Highway 20, south to East 500 Road and east back toward Salina.
This would not include the Lakeland Housing addition, but it would instead go around it.
Mayor Plumlee said it is about positioning Salina for sustainable growth while protecting long-term financial stability.
He added that completing this annexation would not affect property taxes.
