MUSKOGEE, Okla. — A man accused of a back-to-back deadly shooting in March 2025 that led to a chase and ended with a shootout with Muskogee Police has pleaded guilty to all of his charges on Wednesday.

On March 8, 2025, at around 5 p.m., Aaron Bogar-Wilson arrived at 5 Star Recycling in Oktaha and parked outside. Inside the business were Amie Maxwell, two other women and a juvenile. The Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office said the four of them met up there following threats that Wilson had been making toward them.

While inside the building, one woman heard a car door shut outside, and when she looked out of the door, Wilson fired several shots from an AR-style rifle toward her as she was trying to shut the door. The DA’s office said one of the bullets went through the woman’s hat and grazed her eyebrow, causing her to let go of the door.

Wilson then reportedly ran to the door, entered the building, and fired more shots inside. The DA’s office said Wilson cornered all of the victims inside the building and made threats to kill Amie, who was holding the juvenile at the time.

Wilson then reportedly told another woman to get the juvenile away from Amie, and if she didn’t, then he said he would kill them all. Wilson continued to make threats to Amie until she gave the juvenile to the other woman. Aaron then fired several shots at Amie, who fell to the ground. Wilson then grabbed his other gun and left. Amie was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on the same day, Muskogee Police responded to another shots-fired call at 22nd Street and Topeka Avenue. They found Rolando Donta McConnell, who was shot multiple times by Wilson. He later died at the hospital.

Law enforcement identified the suspect vehicle and began chasing Wilson, who was considered armed and dangerous during the pursuit.

The pursuit ended near North 5th Street and West Martin Luther King Street, where two Muskogee Police officers shot Wilson, who had shot at officers during the chase.

Wilson was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds before being booked into jail.

Muskogee County DA Larry Edwards said the two officers’ actions were legally justified because at the time of the shooting, they were aware of the two deadly shootings and knew Wilson was considered armed and dangerous.

Edwards also said the officers knew that Wilson ‘threatened to shoot at police if caught,’ and that he ‘had in fact shot at police during the pursuit.’

Prior to the DA’s decision, the two officers had been placed on routine administrative leave.

On Wednesday, the DA’s office said Wilson pleaded guilty to several charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of shooting with intent to kill and eluding/attempting to elude a police officer. He was sentenced to two life sentences without parole, consecutive to each other; three life sentences, consecutive to each other and to the two life without parole sentences; and two 10-year counts, running concurrent with each other and concurrent to all others.
